Inside the Prudential Center on September 23, Shakur Stevenson faces Robson Conceicao. It is a homecoming fight for Stevenson, born in New Jersey.

A 2016 Olympic silver medalist, Stevenson won the WBO featherweight title in 2019 against Joet Gonzalez. In 2021, Stevenson won the interim WBO junior-lightweight title against Jeremiah Nakathila. Later that year, he beat Jamel Herring to become the regular champion. In his last fight in April, Stevenson beat Oscar Valdez via unanimous decision to win the WBC and The Ring junior-lightweight titles.

Stevenson was set to defend the WBC, WBO, and The Ring junior-lightweight titles, but was stripped of the belts when he missed weight for the fight. Only Conceicao can win the belts.

Conceicao made his pro debut in 2016. In 2021, Valdez beat him for the WBC title. Conceicao rebounded in January with a unanimous decision win over Xavier Martinez.
